Our health system includes several Critical Access Hospitals. Are CAH’s exempt from the AUC (Appropriate Use Criteria) rule?

Correct. Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) are exempt from the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) reporting. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) bases the use of AUC on the applicable settings and applicable payment system, which do not include CAH.
