Ask a Rev Cycle Expert: CPT Code for BBG Nasal Suctioning?

Question:

Is there a Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code to report when providing a BBG nasal suction on a pediatric patient?

Answer:

The BBG Nasal Aspirator allows for constant, mild suction to remove mucous from the patient. While there are CPT® codes for invasive aspiration procedures, there is nothing for the non-invasive approach used by BBG suctioning. It would be appropriate to report with the evaluation and management (E/M) office visit level.
